Thanks to the Lib Dems North Norfolk’s recycling rate is one of the best in the country at 46%. We will improve on this, setting a recycling target of 55% for household and trade waste.

Satisfied

The majority of our residents are satisfied with our waste collection service.

Clean

North Norfolk was the winner of the 2009/10 Clean Britain Award. Lib Dem Cllr Eric Seward, cabinet member for environmental services commented: “we are continuing to maintain the District’s excellent level of environmental quality. We will continue to work to improve the council’s environmental services”.

Pathfinder

The Lib Dems are helping communities under threat from coastal erosion. £3 million has been secured from the government’s Pathfinder fund. Some of the money has been used to ensure that householders in Happisburgh get compensation for their at-risk properties.

Clifftop enhancements are now going ahead allowing Happisburgh and other local communities to become tourist attractions again. Pathfinder money has also helped to re-open the Marram footpath.
